Welcome to the other side

Boy has been staying up late at night and sleeping late in the morning.  Now, this might seem perfectly normal for a boy his age (nearly 11), but this is the first time in his life that he has not gone to bed at basically the appointed time and gotten up before 7:30 a.m.

Since he’s going on a trip with his dad, and since Dad likes to leave on a trip at the crack of dawn (is there a dad who doesn’t?), I’ve been trying to wake him a bit earlier every day to lessen the blow.

So this morning, 20 minutes after popping in to wake him and having not seen him come out yet, I called in there to him:  “Hey babe, are you awake in there?”

i don’t wanna be

Couldn’t have said it better myself.
